Meta Business Manager is a free tool from Meta (Facebook’s parent company) that helps businesses manage their Facebook Pages, Instagram accounts, and ads all in one place.
Many people get confused about how to use the pages effectively and how to add people onto the page as an employee of the business.
Here’s how it works with People and Pages:
1. People (Team Members)
You can invite different people to help manage your business on Facebook and Instagram without sharing your personal login details.
✅ What you can do:
Invite team members or employees by their email address.
Give different people different levels of access (depending on what you want them to see or do).
🔑 Access Levels:
Admin – Full control (can add people, edit settings, and manage everything).
Employee – Limited access (can only work on tasks like posting content or creating ads)
You can always remove people or change their access whenever you want.
2. Pages
Your Facebook Page (business profile) can be managed through Business Manager instead of your personal Facebook account. Once you have invited your new employee as a user you can allocate assets to them (you may be prompted to do this at the point of invitation) this is where you allocate the Facebook page and connected Instagram account.

Assign different people to manage the Page.
Control who can create posts, reply to messages, or view insights.
Connect Instagram accounts to manage them in one place.
3. How They Work Together
Example setup:
You own a cake shop
You set up Meta Business Manager called Karen’s Cakes
You invite your social media manager as an Employee to post content onto the Facebook and Instagram Pages (assign them assets)
You invite your accountant as an Employee to view ad payments only.
You stay as the Admin with full control so you can add more users, change permissions etc.
